Them Wacky Russians!

So, the other day, I went to trade in tickets for the Hollywood Bowl. My parents have season tickets, but weren't goign to be able to see next Friday's Finale, so I picked up the tickets. Since the Friday program A Night at the Moulin Rouge looked kinda boring, I decided to switch them for the night before, a Russian Spectacular. See, I go to the Bowl for a little night music, not for fireworks and cancan girls.

I had to stay up late (the Box Office doesn't open until noon), but I did manage to change my tickets with ease. More than ease, actually, I got:

• Better seats
• Cheaper seats (obviating the need to pay the ticket-exchange fee)
• Better Orchestra (LA Philharmonic instead of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra)
• Better Music (Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov instead of, um, that cancan music, I guess)

Sigh. Angelenos may be inured to stars, but they're still too impressed by the special effects. Any locals willing to go to an orchestral concert where nothing explodes?
