False Start.
I was going to get up early to see a production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. I did get up early, but the show fell through. Oh well, I got to spend the time buying a birthday gift for my grandmother. It's often hard shopping for her without falling back on old standards like flowers and religious books. But I managed to put together something nice, I think. I started looking through the art books for something that was just pleasing to the eye, and I found You Are Here:
Personal Geographies and Other Maps of the Imagination. It's a book of maps that depict nongeographical ideas in geographic terms and geographic areas in nongeographic terms. An interesting lookthrough, I thought. And, to go with it, of course, I picked up a compact atlas. It's not the most rigorous, but it's current and well laid out: a nice companion to the other.
Better than clay handprints at any rate.
I was going to mention something here, about something or other being available online, but I know longer recall what it was. Maybe it's still on the computer at home.
