Whedonit

Surely, by now, after my exhortations, you're already watching Veronica Mars. So, of course, it's not you whom I refer to Joss Whedon's review of the Veronica Mars Season One DVD. For surely you already know that it is, in Joss's words "the funniest and most romantic show on TV." But I note the article here so that you can tell your unbelieving friends.

I'm just waiting for my Amazon copy to come to my house.

Maybe you can explain it to me - we watched an episode last week, just to see why people were always raving about it. We spent the entire time feeling confused and perplexed. I am not sure where the appeal is yet.

I'd recommend watching the season 1 DVD before picking up with season 2 again. VM is very much about the nuances and payoffs that can arise from detailed continuity. I'd have been Lost too if I had to start VM from season 2.

I got my DVD set yesterday. Woo! I immediately went about watching the twenty minutes of deleted scenes and the extended pilot, plus the first chapter of "An Echolls Family Christmas" because, well, you know.

I thought it was just me!

I thought it was just me! I watched the first episode this season and couldn't tell any of the white guys apart. I didn't even know there was a love triangle until I read it online after the show. I read that last season one of the actors always was told to always wear a necklace for just that reason. I did jump at what happened at the very end but that didn't get me to watch it again the next week. I think I'll stick with Lost because I'm just as lost as everyone else.

Downloadable commentary track for the pilot (by Rob Thomas, from his site).
