Big Bad.
Notes on last night's airing of Doctor Who on the Sci-Fi Channel.
I'm a bit upset that the Bad Wolves turned out to be the Daleks. It just doesn't seem right. I know my DW lore is rusty, but it was my impression that the Daleks were never ones to single out a planet for destruction the way they've apparently been staking out Earth for millenia.
I never thought it might be the Daleks because it's just not their style. These are aliens who, when they decide to exterminate you, announce that they are exterminating you. Loudly. Over and over and over again. They don't devise an elaborate trap that will make your death look mostly like an accident. They just chase you down (slowly) and shoot you. They're like the Michael Meyers of evil aliens.
If the Bad Wolf scenario was going to be a product of any Doctor nemesis, I would have expected it to be The Master. He's a "long game" kind of guy. Sure, he's dead, but so were the Daleks, we thought. The Master would make sense. A long, elaborate manipulation of a single race for the purpose of manipulating doctor for some evil reason of some sort.
But no, it's just Daleks. Sigh. I suppose I should wait for the concluding episode to make my final judgment, but suddenly I don't have the same passion for this shirt.
