Wednesday NYTX took 6:30. I had some trouble on the eastern section, but Google research has proved my guesses correct, although I'm still not quite sure I understand 31A. LATX lasted 7:30. It's odd for the LA Times to take longer than the NY Times, but I had to spend some time researching a cross of two proper nouns (26/29).
For those wondering why I continue posting my solve times, I suppose it partly vanity. I've gotten very good at doing crosswords, and although I don't really solve for times (like these people), I do like to keep track of how long I take. And the computer program with which I do my daily solving keeps track of time elapsed, with the nifty feature of pausing the clock whenever I minimize the puzzle to do real work. But mostly it's to annoy
tamaraland and force her to do more crossword puzzles. And possibly
davidglasser too, although I haven't heard from him again.

14:24. You can tell I don't speak English much anymore!

For 31A, think of where you wait to get one of the [answer]s. My problem with understanding today's NYT is that I still don't get what the theme is. I actually got through the LAT quicker, although the NE corner put me into serious guess mode.
