Man I'm Busy.

So busy, I don't know that I'll be able to keep updating this log for a while. I'm not leaving LJ, I'm still reading journals, I'm just not posting. There's a lot I'm doing, and I don't have a whole lot of time to write about it. Whenever I find the time to write about it, I realize I could be doing something else. And those other things are important enough and fun enough that I'm not resorting to LJ for procrastination.

Yeah, I'm a bit vague. There are reasons for that.

A lot of what I'm doing is puzzle related. I'm working on a sekrit thing right now, then I'm working on my Easter party, and through all of it, I'm planning for the summer. I'm excited about all of it, and I'm working hard. But it means that anything I'm thinking about writing about is usually puzzle focused.

In that respect, I'm thinking about creating a team blog about puzzles. What they are, what makes good ones, what breaks them, puzzles on paper, in video games, in culture. The kind of mildly analytical stuff that's all the rage in blogs. I know I couldn't support it on my own, but I read enough personal blogs that touch on these issues that enough of us should be able to get one going together. Anyone with me?

Definitely. There are a lot of philsophical thoughts I've had on the nature of puzzles, puzzle construction, etc. and would definitely be up for a group blog where we can kick it around.

I'm always busy with 997 other things, but I'd love to contribute to such a blog when I can.

Whereas I'm just the opposite of [livejournal.com profile] thedan. I'm not confident I could commit to anything long-term, but I have nothing but free time for the immediate future.

Sounds interesting. I also tend to get bogged down in numerous projects, but I could try to make contributions

Hm... good luck with all the busyness!

I've also been thinking of something, for quite a while, that's a little different but nonetheless also very similar: a blog for puzzle fans that is roughly what the cruciverb site is for puzzle constructors. Your team blog sounds like something in between a puzzle fan blog and a puzzle construction blog, and that's probably not such a bad idea: accessible to casual solvers, interesting to hardcore solvers, and useful to puzzle geeks and puzzle creators.

I'm thinking that maybe you and I (and other interested commenters on this thread so far) should get together via AOL IM tomorrow) and discuss this in more detail. (Of course, east-coasters would have stay up really late, but still...

At any rate, I'm definitely interested in posting something every once in a while, at the least.

ya!
I'll probably learn more than I contribute, but count me in.

Count me in for adding to the puzzle blog! :)

Don't know how much I could contribute but I'd be willing to give it a shot.

Anyone with me?

I'm all for such a blog. I've been wanting to put my thoughts on what makes for good and bad puzzles (especially in Extravaganza/Hunt-style contexts) down in writing for ages now, but my natural laziness has prevented me. A group blog might be just the thing.

I'd read it, although I don't think I've much in the way of useful commentary apart from "Whoah...cool."
