Black Friday Results.
Today wasn't as good a day as the last two years. I didn't really get what I wanted for me, and I didn't do that great shopping for others, either.
I was hoping for a decent deal on a Nintendo DS, but I couldn't find one, at least, not in time. Fry's was selling the Nintendogs bundle with two bonus games, but the bonus games weren't very interesting, and by the time I learned about it, the line at Fry's was too long to be worth the bother. There wasn't much along the lines of interesting video game deals this year. There were a lot of deals on TVs and laptops, but I'm not in the market for either, so they didn't appeal to me.
I did manage to pick up a nice assortment of DVDs, and I did some general shopping for gifts, but I still have a way to go for the season, apparently. Also, the really nice comic store by my house had a special sale on trade paperbacks (15% + 10%), so I got some there.
In other news, I've assembled my Christmas albums into an iTunes mix with over 100 songs, which is nice. However, I have some gaps that are hard to fill. If the LJ genie knows how to get a hold of the full cd of John Denver & The Muppets' A Christmas Together, or just the songs not on the abridged version, I'd love to hear about it. Similarly, I'd love to have another listen to "Mr. Birchum's Gift Guide" from the Kevin & Bean Christmas Album of some year; the version I have cuts out the gift-giving don'ts and skips to the porn titles.
