Brainteaser 1: Why would the bakery be selling a cake for a ninetieth birthday?

When I got home, Family Feud was on, the-guy-from-Home Improvement era. The category was "countries that have four letters." After Peru (#3), Iraq (#1), and Iran (#2), the team was unable to guess the fourth country. I wasn't too surprised by this, it's easy to choke on a question like this under pressure. I was a bit more disappointed that the offered answers were "China" and "Asia."

What was really sad, was that everyone was happy about these answers, clapping and cheering and saying, "Good answer!"

On the other hand, I've spent too much time with this kind of trivia. I came up with four answers without even realizing that there's one that's obviously going to be on a survey of average Americans.

Brainteaser 2: What answer was on the survey?

My feelings on The da Vinci Code are pretty well summed up by Cathode Tan. I asked a question, but there's some kook stuff in between my comment and the blogger's reply.

There is no Brainteaser 3, but people who enjoyed the puzzles from Google's da Vinci Quest will be happy to know that Wei-Hwa Huang will be providing daily puzzles for your personalized Google homepage. If you were following the quest, you're already subscribed to it.

I deleted the Da Vinci thing from my homepage, since it was, for me, over. I searched the content you can add to your page using the keyword "puzzle," but couldn't find any daily puzzle that looked like it was by Wei-Hwa. Any idea where I can find it?

I can't spot it now, but the puzzles don't start until May 26. I'd suggest you look for it then. The title on the module right now is "Wei-Hwa's Puzzle Challenges."

Family Feud: Your answer doesn;t have to be correct: you just have to say what OTHER people said. So in this world of "What's an 11-letter word for a movie about crossword solvers?", I'd say "China" isn't so surprising.
