One-Day Countdown.

So, I'm on TV tomorrow.

May be why I'm kind of not sleeping right now.

I took the day off tomorrow night. So I work tonight, but then am free until Thursday.

Earlier, I was going to post a bunch of short thoughts about things but they're gone.

I attribute this completely to the fact that I just said I'm going to be on TV tomorrow and now I can't think of anything else.

I wanted to mention ithiliana's post about Diane Duane (dduane) and how to write gay characters in young-adult fantasy novels. (Hint: It's not to wait until after the series is over and then go "Oh yeah and that one guy was gay just trust me on that okay")

Oh yes, this weekend. Lots of things happened.

We bought used books.

I attended the memorial service for Barry Tunick. While there, I learned that the family has been using a Google Alert to monitor mentions of his name since his death. I didn't want to speak at the memorial, since I really didn't have much more to say than what I said in my earlier post, but it was nice to know that the family had heard what little I had to tell.

Also, since this post has now been picked up by the same alert, "Hi, Tunicks!"

We went out to dinner with a nice couple.

We visited my parents.

So, yes, tomorrow. Three o'clock in Los Angeles, we believe. Possibly three thirty, but I don't think so. Other times in other cities, unless it's another day.

I was Googling for mentions of Barry Tunick and found http://www.lowenkopf.com/2007/10/avalon-of-mind.html, from someone who knew him back in college.

WNBC has eliminated the second MGC show, but I hope to see your appearance eventually.

There was a large contingent of Daily Bruin alums at the memorial service.

And based on the way local coverage has been getting pre-empted, I hope I get to see my appearance eventually.

I just came over here from invisiblegames to see your post on the subject -- fascinating, thanks. Having done that, I saw this post. Thanks for it -- I had a Diane Duane and Dumbledore post in the pipeline, and I'm glad to know that someone else got there first!
