Holy or Broken.
I hate it when the fates conspire to make me spend money.
After hearing Hallelujah used to great effect in Shrek, which I watched on video yesterday, and in the season finale of The West Wing just a few hours ago, I know that I will not be able to sleep today unless I purchase a Leonard Cohen CD on my way home from work. I'm also going to have to read this interview over and over. This means I'm probably going to have to buy a Suzanne Vega album too.
I suppose there are worse dooms.
ThuNYTX: 6:45. Took a little while to understand the 36A. ThuLATX: 8:45. Lots of trouble with the NE.

As for Cohen albums, I like I'm Your Man a lot; amazing songwriting, though some of the arrangements are pretty goofy.

Also, the version I like on the Shrek soundtrack is by Rufus Wainwright, but I'm not sure if that's available other than on that soundtrack (and I don't want to have that ugly cover of "I'm a Believer").

to tell ya the truth, i think the Cohen version's about 3 million times better than the Jeff Buckley version (even though that's great too). but i think it's absolutely breathtaking when the choir chimes in to accompany ol' Lennie!!! one of my favorite songs ever.
plus, with the More Best Of album (as opposed to Various Positions which it was originally on), ya get Closing Time too! how cool is THAT song?
I like a Cohen
