Shock and Awe.
But both of us were shocked when last night, getting out the door late to my parents' Christmas Eve party, we were told we should probably move our car because "it was on fire."
The car wasn't on fire, but the Little Country Church of Hollywood completely ablaze. This church is directly behind our carport, so as we ran to the car in our Sunday best, carrying presents, flames were rising up behind my car.
We headed to my parents' but turned around quickly when we realized how bad the wind was. There was a good chance we would need to evacuate our stuff. But the LAFD had things undercontrol pretty quickly, and the fire didn't spread beyond nearby palm trees. We were able to get to my parents only an hour later than we'd planned.
The rest of the holiday has been pleasantly uneventful.
Merry and Uneventful Christmas to the rest of you!
Love, Tablesaw
