Went in for a physical, and I got a tetanus shot and blood drawn. My left arm hates life right now. My blood pressure is 112/71, which is apparently very good.
That's why some doctors are kind enough to give intramuscular shots in places like...well, your backside! The bigger the muscle, the less (and shorter-term) the pain. Alas, some still joyfully stab you in the arm. Sadists! (I used to get Depo Provera shots in my right arm, and those needles are HUGE, because the serum is so thick; I'd gotten three before someone told me MOST doctors give 'em to you in the tush, not the arm! It always took me a week before I could sleep on my right side again...)
Indeed! A "normal" bp reading is 120/80, so if you managed 112/71 in the presence of sharp things and that awful scent of clinical cleansers, you're in good shape. :) No White Coat Syndrome for you.
Ouch! My daughter just had a tetanus boost and it made her arm hurt like crazy for a few days. But, better than tetanus! (She works in a barn, so it's a real issue for her.) I hope it feels better soon.
