That's Cold, Man.

I complain about the temperature every time I go to Massachusetts. But this year is the worst I've seen in quite a while. And whether my body has changed or I'm simply more aware of what's going of what's happening, but my body is getting totally wrecked this year. I was unable to find my gloves in L.A., and I haven't been able to find replacements in my schedule here.

Yesterday, a little while after going outside for only a short period of time with very crappy gloves, my hands were in serious pain. They ached just to move, and the skin was peeling. As it got colder, outside and in, my hands started feeling like that even during all-indoor trips.

I've been massaging them with moisturizer, but I just feel like I'm getting crushed by the weather. Not just in a "woe is me (wink wink)" way, in a "I am being slowly killed by cold" way.

This cold is as bad as it's been so far this winter. Try the garment district for gloves--it'll be cheap, it's close, and there's lots of other interesting things in there to discover.

This is balmy compared to the weather during the few days before I left Winnipeg to come here.

Just sayin'.

They sell gloves in La Verde's. Or... I have extras with me and you can have a pair if you want. Come by our HQ.

This is my fourth Mystery Hunt, but the first at which I had to think about the weather. That is, think about whether a three-mile walk home at 2 AM might be a hazardous undertaking.

(Answer: probably not -- but leave early and catch the subway anyhow.)
