I decided to spruce up some of my old userpics. Nothing special, I just pulled up the original images, if I could find them; sharpened them up a little; and saved them again in a better format.

A couple weeks ago, ojouchan told me she hated one of my icons. I agreed with her, saying I was thinking about dropping it. But after a little while, we realized we were talking about two different icons—I liked one but not the other, and so did she, but vice versa.

And so, a poll:

I'll uh... just be over in here in the land of wondering when people have time to make icons. In my head its like the scrapbooking craze. You all get together on Thursday nights w/ your cutouts and stampers and fonts ...

I've been doing them at work, with my reasoning being that I'm learning how to use Photoshop. It actually has helped me do some rather unusual requests very quickly.

Also, I think most of the people who make icons make them pretty darn fast, which is how they manage to have posts of like 120 icons from five TV shows and two movies every other day. I have not yet been made privy to the secrets of the ancient masters.

the reason i dislike #1 more is that it's too messy and hard to decipher. if you cleaned it up, i'd like it better than #2.

I dislike #2 more actually, but IAWTC. Use your new Photoshop-fu to clean up the insets and #1 will be vastly improved.

I spent a little time looking for the originals of these images, either on the web or hidden on my old hard drives, but I haven't turned up anything yet.
