Au contraire, fresh jellyfish are also eaten, as jellyfish salad, in yuppie-oriented Oriental places in Manhattan. The next time I order one, I'll ask for a half-portion, or perhaps a quarter-portion: while intriguing in both taste and texture, the sheer amount of the stuff they give you is intimidating.

Would it be incredibly anal to point out that it's "Tannhäuser"?

(when there's two vocals following each other, the umlaut is -- as far as I can tell off the top of my head -- always on the first, as opposed to English, where it seems to always be on the second (coöperation))
