Didn't headlines originally become short and punchy in order to fit in big letters on a newspaper? And if we're not reading them on newspapers any more, wouldn't it be a good idea to go back to slightly longer sentences that make sense?
Internet-caused cultural change fascinates me, but this is one area where the obvious doesn't seem to have happened yet...
