This journal is getting a lot of attention for last night's post. I just want to affirm, since it's been asked, that anyone and everyone can add me to their friends list. My own policy for adding others to my own list is pretty haphazard, so don't worry if I don't add you back immediately or at all. And regardless, I don't do locked entries very often.

I didn't, and I feel a little silly. I had a scratch pad with a near draft, but didn't worry about saving it, because I knew that he had never shut down discussion like this.

I've e-mailed him about the comments. LJ doesn't let a user freeze the entirety of the comments section, which is what he apparently wants to do. Hopefully, he'll get his act together soon.

Yeah, you can't use their mass-action tool to freeze comments -- I d'know why -- just screen and delete. Someone outlined a pretty good solution (freeze manually, set original post to screened comments thereafter) but I doubt he'll do it (has no time, &c).

Wow. I mean, hell, I've seen people yank the plug on elljay discussions before, sure, but never one that big.

-- As pixelfish is telling me, if you have comment notification emails enabled, and other people responded to your comments, you may be able to at least reconstruct them from emails? (If you wanted to -- it would just be a shame to lose that argument, esp since the original post is still up there, just now without any other voices. Gahh.)

I just woke up realizing the same thing. But it looks like the comments are back, so it won't be necessary.
