Counting Down.

Early Sunday morning, I get on a plane that will take me to North Carolina for a week of fun-in-the-sun with many from ifmud, including emshort, inkylj, storme, huskyscotsman and others. On Saturday, my sister graduates with her BA from Loyola Marymount University. And I am way behind in my preparations.

I went out today to find a graduation gift for my sister and a Mothers' Day gift for my mother. I had very bad luck, and the side effect of that is purchasing lots of stuff for me to compensate. I picked up a copy of Fluxx, for which I've been looking for a while, and a few used video games for Dreamcast and N64. I finally did find a gift for my mom, but I'm still at a loss for something good for my sister. Maybe I'll go to Ikea and find something furniturey.

And I still have to do laundry, pick up some portable toiletries, buy new sandals, clean up my room for my sister's graduation party, check out my guest house (demolition for remodeling begins next week), pack and, oh yeah, put in a few more eight-hour days.

Sigh. A vacation creates its own need for vacation.
