Slow night. I mean slooooooooooooow night.

The time was passed playing a game of Scr(a)bble with one of my Text Editing coworkers. (Scr(a)bble, if you didn't already know, is ScrabbleTM, but without the TM and with parentheses.) I won; go me. For a little while at least, you can look at the final board. I think it was a pretty good game, with a very tight board.

The rest of the day I spent doing a week plus of New York Times crosswords.

SunNYTX: 45:30. Took forever to notice the theme. 119A is dedicated to [livejournal.com profile] huskyscotsman. MonNYTX: 5:30. Very clever theme. TueNYTX: 9:30. 29D, 43D & 51A all conspired to bring me down. WedNYTX: 7:30. As a Californian, this was a fun puzzle. ThuNYTX: 11:30. FriNYTX: 12:45. A very nice fill. SatNYTX: 39:15. A new word in 26D.

End of August: Move in to new home.

Fall: Visit the American Northwest. This may involve one or more of the following: seeing Duchess in San Francisco, attending my cousin's wedding in Oregon and meeting up with Ivan, [livejournal.com profile] inkylj, et al. in Seattle.

Winter: Visit Boston/Providence area. There is a possibility that I will coordinate this trip to coincide with the MIT Mystery Hunt, which I've kibitzed on the past two years.

Beyond: England. No time frame on this, but I'm committing myself to visiting, eventually.

In between, almost anyone who wants to stretch out on my couch is more than welcome. I'll even cook (a little).
