tablesaw: Sketch of an antique tablesaw (Antigua)
I got my first Christmas card of the season, from [livejournal.com profile] tmcay. I wonder if I'll try to send some out this year. As much as I'm a Christmaphile, Christmas cards are always rough for me. If I have time this weekend, I'll make an effort.

But I do have a wall of gifts on my dining room table. It's neat, it's fun, it's like I've made a fort. A fort of generosity!. Now I need to start wrapping them. Wrapping gifts is decidedly less fun than purchasing them. However, I have to give some out at a [C]ha[n]nu[k]ka[h] party this weekend, so I need to get going.

My living room is nearly Christmas-tree ready. I need a bit more cleaning and a bit of furniture rearranging. I was hoping to get the tree before the weekend, but it may not happen. I think I'll probably go on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday morning. As always, I will be shopping at Oregon Family Christmas Trees. I'm going to get something small, probably between three and four feet. Last year, you may remember, I got a tree that was too big, over five feet. I'm not going to make that mistake again, especially since I have a bit more furniture than last year.

However, I do still need to do my 'Net shopping. Bad me.

On Sunday, I went to my parents' house to celebrate my mother's birthday with donuts and tree-decorating. (Obviously, they have a tree already.) It was noted that this may make my family "cute." However, my sister disagreed thusly: "We're not cute! We're HARDASS!!!!!!" If you disagree, you'll have to take it up with her.

On the other hand, I caved and bought myself a cheap, used GBA SP. I couldn't help it. Now I can play Link's Awakening while watching My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss. And that's cool. Moreover, I remembered to save a few OG Gameboy games from when we had one. That means I can play original Tetris. Woo!

And also speaking of MBFOB, I wasn't avoiding it, but I didn't watch the first two(?) episodes. Man, I wish I had. [livejournal.com profile] spelvin (who is named Betty and has a journal at [livejournal.com profile] thedan) is correct in saying that the show is dead-on with its satire of The Apprentice. Unlike Betty, I intend to continue watching The Apprentice this season. However, I will now delay watching it until I can watch the two shows back-to-back.
