Things I've Been Doing (+ Meme)
Nov. 14th, 2005 02:40 pmI've been playing Killer 7. It's a lot like the Metal Gear games in the sense that I am really not good at playing the game, but I still enjoy it immensely. The only thing I don't like is that most of the in-game conversations appear to have been voiced by Metallus, which generally makes me want to kill myself. But I can't turn the sound completely off because I need to listen for audio cues about when invisible monsters are attacking. So I have to turn the sound down far enough that I can't hear much of anything except those cues, but the sounds clash. It's annoying.
I'm watching a few shows, but a lot of them are failing to satisfy. I'm burned out on a lot of the reality shows, and many returning ones don't seem as interesting. I've finally really sunk in with Grey's Anatomy. I enjoyed the first season, but it never quite grabbed me, so I'd often leave it on in another room or fast forward or whatever. But I'm in the groove now. It's a pretty relaxed show, and the music is great.
I'm also watching a pretty full slate of Adult Swim stuff, but I'll go into that later.
I'm also watching videogame speedplays. This is inspired by Dessgeega's wonderful article in the Autumn issue of The Gamer's Quarter. It's also inspired by actually having a broadband connection capable of downloading the videos effectively. The videos of scrolling shooters are a lot of fun. Since they are also games I don't tend to be good at, watching the videos can be more fun in some cases. But I just downloaded a video of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, I game I'm very familiar with. It's funny in places, like watching the player force Link to Y-button dash absolutely everywhere. But in general it's very relaxing. I may have to get some of these DVDs so I can watch the better quality on my bigger TV.
And music listening continues, as I just downloaded an album by Anya Marina, after hearing her on the abovementioned Grey's Anatomy. And so, here's a meme from
greenlily and
thedan, the latter of which I always imagine is one of the Killer 7 team.
( The list is pretty much random, really. )
