Pushing Forward.

I tried reading The Way of the Superior Man the other day, but had problems. After a few words, which eventually had to be picked at random throughout the book, I found myself getting either physically ill or angry (all venting carried out strictly on the paperback). To counterbalance the misogyny, I pulled out Joanna Russ's The Female Man, which I've been reading since. It's polarized and polemical and slightly out of date, but it's still been a useful text to check back in on now that I'm starting on the road to matrimiony.

It turns out that a career-counseling service I spotted offers a discount if I rejoin my college's alumni association. Better get on that, I guess. I had a membership when I graduated, but that was long, long ago. I think the wounds have scabbed enough that I could rejoin for a bit.
