...is what the home computer is. The one with the DSL connection. As far as I can tell, something snapped in the memory, which prevents the memory management systems from loading, which prevents everything else from loading. Further, I still can't get my computer to properly dial into my dial-up ISP, upon which I shall be reliant once I move.

All of this would have to happen on the day after I start getting involved with some web games. The online Alias game is starting up along with the new season, and of course, there's Push, Nevada. Alias's game is usually pretty simple, and meant to run parallel to the plot line of the show. It's not clear if the next mission is going to start up before, during, or after Sunday's premiere. Regardless, Alias is a great show that everyone should watch.

I can't say the same about Push, unfortunately. It's really bad. It's badly acted, badly directed, and mediocrely written (the last wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the first two). The "gimmick" of the show is the puzzle that leads to a prize of $1,045,000. That money would be nice, of course, but it won't mean anything if the show and everything surrounds it is awful. I'll probably tape the show anyway because I still enjoy bad mysteries sometimes, but you can bet I'll be watching CSI instead.

Also, a nice little game called TimeHunt. It claims contributions from lots of big names, including Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. From what I've played, it looks pretty fun and engaging, and thoroughly done. Unfortunately, the work computers don't seem to be able to update the Shockwave player, so most of the pages I can't access. I'll just have to play from home . . . oh wait.

I talked with my uncle this weekend, and everything is set. On September 29, I'm going to start moving in. There'll still be some work going on, especially outside, but I'll be in for it all. It's going to take a few weeks to install my patio, so I'm planning my housewarming party for the weekend of Oct. 19 & 20. If you know where I'll be living, you're invited. If you don't, ask and I may tell you. Fun for all!

So, as I mentioned earlier, Ex has begun reading and commenting in my journal. I'm actually kind of glad. This may be a way to painlessly restart a friendship, from a distance.

She also directed me to her own webjournal. I don't feel comfortable giving the address even in this smaller area, but let me reprint a section I found early on.

I tried to work out (alone, in my head) a breakup that I had a long time ago... )

As you can imagine, this struck me pretty hard. But really, I don't have anything more to say, I think, than what I posted as a response:

So, yeah, I found you... )

I don't think there's much more to say, and I need to get to bed. Must wake up for Survivor Thailand, you know.
