Pound of Flesh.
Nov. 4th, 2004 06:09 amI'm at home now. I worked for about thirty minutes.
I've been dealing with construction in the backyards of three of the yards that adjoin mine. There's some remodeling, a deck's being built, and someone's fixing their garage. It's been getting better, though, with less use of the mind-piercing metal grinder.
Apparently, this is the universe's cue to start construction at my place of employment. I went in to work today to discover that there was an incessant pounding noise, like a blunted jackhammer, coming from two floors above. I tried moving around the building, but although it was slightly softer, it was still too much for me.
There was no warning that there'd be any major construction today, so I don't know whether there will be more tomorrow.
