Potter Notes.
Jul. 18th, 2007 12:09 pmSo, for
ojouchan's birthday, we took a trip to Whimsic Alley, where the following took place:
Woman on a cell phone: I'm going as Beatrix . . . Beatrix . . . Beatrix Lestrange.
Tablesaw (to Ojouchan, out of the woman's hearing): Bellatrix. Beatrix is Harry's long-lost sister.
Ojouchan: Whose patronus is a rabbit.
I've been having a lot of fun looking at the theories and speculation running up until the release of Deathly Hallows. There's a lot of crazy stuff out there, and what's most fun is that even some of the really crazy theories do have a chance of happening. The field is really wide open.
One of the sites that's been a huge help has been the HP Lexicon, which has collected lots and lots of Potter information. Suprisingly, poking around the Black Family Tree created by Rowling I came across what might be an interesting piece of "historical" lore. There are three Blacks burned off of the tree for marrying muggles. Two started families who are important in Harry's life, so I wondered a bit about who "Bob Hitchens" might be. I have to wonder if it was meant to be Quartermaster Robert Hitchens, who was at the wheel of the Titanic when it hit an iceberg.
Was magic the cause of the sinking boat? Is this the beginning of HP/Titanic crossover fic? Who can say?
