It's always nice to be able to scratch a few books off of the list of books you need to read.

No, wait.

It's almost always nice. It's not so nice when you scratch a number of works off of your list because the racist remarks of the authors make you blind with rage:
Niven said a good way to help hospitals stem financial losses is to spread rumors in Spanish within the Latino community that emergency rooms are killing patients in order to harvest their organs for transplants.

"The problem [of hospitals going broke] is hugely exaggerated by illegal aliens who aren’t going to pay for anything anyway," Niven said.

"Do you know how politically incorrect you are?" Pournelle asked.

"I know it may not be possible to use this solution, but it does work," Niven replied.
I'm also considering swearing off the summation of mathematical series just so I never have to see the name "Sigma" again.

I'm heading to bed, so I don't have time to do any captioning, but I did want to put up a new photo set. I found an undeveloped roll of film in my underwear drawer, and so I took it over to the camera store where [livejournal.com profile] ojouchan has been doing all of her photography stuff. They developed the film and scanned the photos onto a CD.

I had no idea when or where the film was from, but I knew it must be pretty old, since I haven't had a film camera for a while. It turned out to be from my trip to Boston in 2003, when I stayed with [livejournal.com profile] veek and attended my first Mystery Hunt. This set is mostly pictures from Providence and Walden Pond, though there are a few from outings in Boston.

Here's the set. I'll say more about it later.
